WHO WE ARE

Tiny Pursuit is an independent game designed and developed by Daniel Bramhall ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Tiny Pursuit game and the tinypursuit.com website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

We are the data controller for this information. If you have any questions, contact us at hello{at}tinypursuit{dot}com.

WHAT WE COLLECT

LAUNCH UPDATE EMAILS

When you sign up for launch updates on this website we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Whether you opted in to beta testing updates

YOUR PILOT ACCOUNT

If you choose to save your pilot in the game, we collect:

  • Your email address and a password (passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us)
  • A unique account identifier created by Firebase
  • Your pilot name, which other players can see on leaderboards and in Battle

GAME DATA

To save your progress and power online features, we store game data linked to your account, such as level progress, coins, unlocked skins and cosmetics, stats, achievements, daily challenge results and streaks, leaderboard scores, and recorded runs you send to other pilots in Battle.

WEBSITE ANALYTICS

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it, for example which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address, browser and device type.

HOW WE USE IT

  • Launch updates: to tell you when Tiny Pursuit is released and share news about the game. We only use your email address for updates about Tiny Pursuit.
  • Beta testing: if you opted in, to invite you to test the game before launch.
  • Your account: to sign you in, save your progress and sync it across the devices you play on.
  • Online features: to run leaderboards, Battle and daily challenges.
  • Keeping things running: to fix problems, prevent cheating and abuse, and improve the game and website.

We never sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.

LEGAL BASIS

Where data protection laws such as the UK GDPR or EU GDPR apply, we rely on:

  • Consent for launch update and beta testing emails, and for analytics cookies where required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Contract to provide your pilot account, cloud saves and online features you ask us for.
  • Legitimate interests to keep the game secure, fair and working properly.

FIREBASE AND OTHER SERVICES

We use trusted third-party services to run Tiny Pursuit. They process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service.

  • Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) stores your account and game data. Firebase also processes technical information such as IP addresses and device identifiers to provide and secure the service. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.
  • Formspree receives the launch update sign-up form on this website. See the Formspree Privacy Policy.
  • Google Analytics measures website usage. See Google's Privacy Policy, or opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Apple handles any in-app purchases through the App Store. We never receive your payment details.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

  • Update emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you, or until we stop sending updates about the game.
  • Account and game data: for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our active systems, and from backups within a limited period.
  • Analytics data: for the retention period set in Google Analytics, after which it is deleted automatically.

YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

  • Unsubscribe: use the link in any update email, or email us, and we'll stop contacting you.
  • Play without an account: saving your pilot is optional. If you don't create one, your progress stays on your device.
  • Delete your account: delete your pilot account from within the game, or email us and we'll do it for you.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal information, and to receive a copy of it. To make a request, email us and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner's Office.

SECURITY

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access restricted to what the game needs. No online service can be completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

CHILDREN

Tiny Pursuit's online accounts and update emails are not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy as Tiny Pursuit grows. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and let you know by email or in the game if the changes are significant.
